Oct. 1, 2014: Last year, the Bronxville football team's season ended with a 28-10 play-off loss at Rye Neck. Rye Neck went on to narrowly lose the state championship game and was considered the favorite to win the section again this year. However, with a convincing victory over the Black Hats on Saturday at home, the Broncos demonstrated that this year, they may be the team to beat.

In a close first half that contained several momentum and lead changes, the Broncos scored first, on a long touchdown pass from Graham Klimley to Brendan Walsh. Rye Neck evened the score with a sustained drive. Bronxville's second and third touchdowns of the day came as Klimley connected twice with receiver Charlie Tarry. Rye Neck's special teams kept them in the game, though, as they twice returned a Bronco kickoff for a touchdown, leaving the score knotted at the end of the half.

The second half was a different story, as the size and strength of the Bronco line wore Rye Neck down. Bronxville's outstanding defense held Rye Neck scoreless during the second half and added points to the scoreboard. After lineman Steven Ircha stripped the ball from Rye Neck, Luke Geiling recovered the fumble and ran 40 yards for a touchdown. Afterwards, Geiling called the touchdown run "the dream of every lineman." Bronxville scored two more times after that. Klimley hit Brendan Walsh for his second receiving touchdown, and junior Nick Sutherland capped a long run with a one-yard dash for the final touchdown of the day. With the final score of 40-19, the Broncos have given notice: they are a team to be reckoned with. This Thursday at 5:30 pm they go on the road to face Valhalla.
