June 3, 2026: The Bronxville High School outdoor track and field teams outperformed 22 Class C schools at the Sectional Championships at Pawling High School last week. The boys’ team won the meet with 136 points, followed by Irvington with 64, and Haldane with 63. The girls’ team scored 172 points with 2^nd place Albertus Magnus scoring 75, and Briarcliff 59.  This is the 4th consecutive section championship for the boys and the 22nd consecutive win for the girls.

“We are incredibly proud of both teams as they performed extremely well,” said Coach Brian Halling.   We're so impressed by their ability to continuously show up and perform well during the year's biggest moments.

The combined boys’ and girls’ team set 40 new season records or lifetime bests and had several outstanding performances. For the boys, Matt Jensen set a new Class C Championship record in the men’s 3000m steeplechase, and the boys’ 4x800m relay, Grant Patterson, Will Hogue, Julian Gonzalez, and Matt Jensen, set a new meet record in the 4x800m relay with a time of 8:16.35.

It was also an amazing day for the girls’ relay teams. Kara Kochansky, Drake Benton, Siena Angelani, and Bea Hogue won the 4x400m relay in 4:07.73, a season’s best time, and Emerson Dennis, Ella McCalla, Elizabeth Conlon, and Jesse O’Gorman were the Sectional Champs in the 4x800m relay with a time of 10:22.97.

The teams will compete at the Section 1 Qualifiers this week and hope to qualify several athletes to compete at the New York State Championships at Webster Shroeder High School on June 13^th and 14^th.
