Bronxville High School Homecoming this Weekend: See Schedule of Games

By S. Quinn DeJoy and J. Murrer
Oct. 7, 2015: It will be a busy Columbus Day weekend for the Bronxville School athletes who are celebrating homecoming, with multiple varsity and junior varsity games and a variety of festivities. High school students are spending the week showing their spirit with blue and gray day, uniform switch day, and jersey day, and they will also celebrate homecoming with a dance tomorrow night. The traditional parade of cars has been changed to a walking parade this year, and tonight the varsity athletes will march down Pondfield Road onto Midland Avenue before heading to the bonfire at Hayes Practice Field. The parade starts at 7:45 pm, and community members are welcome to come and cheer for the Broncos.
The traditional introduction of all varsity Bronco teams will take place during halftime of the boys' soccer game on Friday night. On Saturday night, a special ceremony honoring past Bronco state champions will be held during halftime of the football game. All members of the 2010 football team, the 2014 boys' lacrosse team, the 2010 and 2014 girls' soccer teams, the 2008 boys' soccer team, and multiple years of girls' cross country teams and all those who have won individual state championships in boys' and girls' cross country, boys' and girls' track, and girls' swimming are encouraged to participate. Following the football game, there will be an informal gathering at Siwanoy Country Club for all team members, their parents, alumni, and friends. All are welcome. There will be a minimal cover charge and a cash bar.
The Bronco teams are positioned well for the upcoming playoffs and are hoping to continue their success at homecoming this weekend at Chambers Field. The football team (3-2) has moved up to Class B this fall and will face Ardsley (3-2) in its final regular season game on Saturday night. The 8-2 boys' soccer team, currently ranked #3 in Class B, will face Ardsley on Friday night. The defending state championship girls' varsity soccer team (7-3-1), ranked #1 in Class B, will go up against Pelham on Friday evening, and the top-ranked Class C varsity field hockey team (7-2-1) has an out-of-league contest against Class AA North Rockland on Saturday afternoon.
The undefeated girls' tennis team, the undefeated girls' cross country team, the boys' cross country team, and the girls' swim and dive team will also be competing at their home sites this weekend. For the complete schedule, see below.
