May 18, 2016: Chambers Field was a hub of activity on Tuesday afternoon, May 10, as the Bronxville outdoor track and field teams hosted the League 3B Championships. Seven teams competed at the championships, including Sleepy Hollow, Ardsley, Hastings, Tuckahoe, Woodlands, and Children’s Village, and the Bronxville girls captured the league championship for the 38th time. The Bronxville boys initially came in second to Sleepy Hollow because of a disqualification in the triple jump by Michael Landy, but Bronxville filed a protest. After state review, it was announced on Monday that the Bronco boys did indeed win the league championship by one point.
Overall, the girls’ team received 19 All-League awards and six All-League honorable mention awards. The boys’ team was recognized with five All-League awards and nine All-League-honorable mention awards. See below for results.
