Celebrate Homecoming with Apparel, Food, and Flags

Oct. 11, 2017: Get ready to put on your Bronco Blue for the Bronxville homecoming celebration with alumni, students, faculty, and the Bronxville community.
Bronxville's annual homecoming week commenced yesterday and will continue with afternoon games and matches throughout the week and night games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Sponsored by the Bronxville Athletic Council, an arm of the PTA, and the Bronxville Athletic Department, homecoming provides the school community and the community at large with a fun-filled family week celebrating Bronxville High School's fall sports teams. There will be several BHS choral performances of the national anthem. [editor’s note: click here for the article in this week’s issue that has details of homecoming events].
For all the festivities, you'll want to show your school spirit. The Bronxville School PTA semi-annual apparel sale will take place through Friday, October 13, outside the atrium on Meadow Avenue during school hours and will include a huge selection of Bronxville Bronco apparel and accessories. Selected items will be available for sale during Friday and Saturday homecoming games at Chambers Field near the Bronco Barn & Grill concession stand. Don't forget to pick up your Bronxville School car magnet, sweatshirt, or dog collar.
And what's homecoming without plenty of food? Thursday night is Community Food Truck Night, when there will be food trucks in the faculty parking lot on Meadow Avenue from 5:00 to 9:00 pm featuring Walter's Hot Dogs, Abeetza Pizza Truck, and other culinary temptations. On Friday and Saturday, the Bronco Barn & Grill concession stand will serve up traditional favorites generously donated by local Broncos supporters, including Scarborough Fair, Mini's Prime Meats & Specialties, Lange's Delicatessen, and our own Doukas family of Bronxville, owners of Eastchester Odyssey Diner.
So bring family and friends, cheer for our varsity sports teams at the parade of athletes, line the bleachers to watch some hometown sports, and enjoy the energy of the Bronxville community at its best as we come home to celebrate!
Also new and noteworthy, check out the new gray-and-blue sports flags and Bronxville feather flags, which were unveiled on Chambers Field at the recent BRONCOFEST festivities earlier this month. BRONCOFEST raised over $800 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with a bake sale and Bronco Barn & Grill concession stand sales and took in $200 for the Red Cross for hurricane relief. Look out for the new flags, which will be displayed to wave in Bronco fans when games are in play.
Go Broncos!!!
