Signing Day for Bronxville Lacrosse Players
Written by Tracy Tarry

Nov. 19, 2014: Four current seniors from Bronxville's 2014 state championship boys' lacrosse team are committed to playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. On Monday, November 17, two of them, Henry Grass and Liam Lynch, made their commitments official by signing letters of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse.
After graduating this spring, Henry Grass, an All-American, will join his brother Jack and play at Johns Hopkins University. Liam Lynch, a face-off specialist and midfielder, plans to play for Fairfield University.
Joining Grass and Lynch at the signing ceremony in the Bronxville High School library were Principal Anne Meyer, Athletic Director Karen Peterson, boys' lacrosse head coach Tim Horgan, and fellow senior players Ted Forst and Charlie Tarry. Forst, who plays attack, and Tarry, who plays defense, have made their respective commitments to the application processes at Yale and Princeton. Yale and Princeton, which are also Division I programs, do not participate in the letter of intent program.
The success of Bronxville's lacrosse program is reflected in the growing number of Bronxville alumni now playing in college. Former Bronxville captains Charlie McCormick and Jack Near (BHS Class of 2011) are now college lacrosse captains, McCormick at Georgetown University and Near at the University of Notre Dame. From the BHS Class of 2012, Gibbs Lilly is now a junior playing at Bates College. Three current college sophomores (BHS Class of 2013) have continued their playing careers in college: Jack Grass at Johns Hopkins University, Aaron Srebnik at Skidmore College, and Brewster Warble at Brown University. Finally, a total of six players from last year's state championship squad are current freshman looking forward to their first full college lacrosse season: Matt Behrens at Georgetown University, Declan Borcich at Tufts University, Will Duncan at Providence College, Will Hutchinson at Franklin & Marshall College, Owen Jones at Yale University, and Henry Lilly at College of the Holy Cross.
Bronxville's lacrosse team had a good showing at the Philly Invitational Team Tournament last weekend, winning games against several nationally ranked high school teams. College plans and applications notwithstanding, the seniors have demonstrated that they are not yet finished winning at the high school level.
