Bronxville School Homecoming 2025 Sports Highlights and Photos

Oct. 16, 2025: Bronxville High School celebrated Homecoming last week with lots of activities both on and off the field. The Bronxville community enjoyed the food trucks on Wednesday, while the high school students rallied around the bonfire on Thursday. Friday was packed with events including a Homecoming parade and the conclusion of Grade Wars, which featured many activities including musical chairs, an egg toss, and a tug of war. And, of course, everyone enjoyed hanging out with the Bronco.

The sports teams entertained the fans at Chambers Field with games every night under the lights. There were also off-site contests last week including two cross country meets, girls’ tennis and volleyball matches, and a girls’ swim meet.
From Thursday to Saturday, all the turf teams delighted the Homecoming crowd with wins. With only a few games remaining in the regular season, each team is at the top of their game as playoffs approach.
Below is a look at how the teams fared during Homecoming Week.
Football
On Saturday night, the undefeated football team took the field and showed the fans why they deserve their No. 5 ranking in the Section 1 by LoHud. Facing Class B John Jay Cross River, the Bronco offense scored three times in the 1st quarter and once in the 2nd to take a commanding 34-0 halftime lead.
With the score at 41-0, John Jay Cross River finally got on the board late in the 3rd quarter and added another touchdown in the 4th. A Bronco field goal in the final minute of the game sealed an overwhelming 44-13 victory.
The Class C Broncos (5-0) have already had impressive wins over the top two Class B teams, Westlake and Sleepy Hollow. Their main competition in Class C is expected to be Dobbs Ferry, which stands at 4-1 with its only loss to Tuckahoe.
One of the most anticipated games of the season will take place this Saturday at 1:30 on Chambers Field as Bronxville hosts rival Tuckahoe. Both teams enter the contest undefeated setting the stage for an exciting matchup.

Girls Soccer
The girls’ soccer team played two games during homecoming week tying Tappan Zee 0-0 and defeating North Salem 3-0. In Friday’s win over North Salem, Carson Kochansky scored two goals, Sam Pagano added one, and Sofia Terjanian contributed two assists. Goalkeepers Lily Delaney and Lulu Heathwood each made a save for the shutout. The Broncos now hold an overall record of 7-1-3.
During Homecoming festivities on Saturday, long-time head coach Don Cupertino was awarded a proclamation from the Westchester Board of Legislators declaring October 11th as “Don Cupertino Day.” Coach Cupertino, who was inducted into the NYSPHSAA Hall of Fame in July, is the second winningest coach in New York State. During his remarkable 35-year career, he has compiled a record of 544-135-37 and led his team to three state championships.
The soccer team competes in Class A and is currently ranked 5th out of 19 teams according to gamdayone.com. The Broncos will go up against a very strong Albertus Magnus team (12-1) today. Bronxville’s only loss so far this season was to the Falcons in early September.

Girls Field Hockey
The girls field hockey team extended its winning streak to seven games with back-to-back shutouts against Harrison (3-0) and Scarsdale (7-0) during Homecoming week.
In the win over Scarsdale, Zoe Loader led the offense with three goals and one assist, while Emma Yeon, Phoebe Halley, and Maggie Young each scored a goal, and Virginia Shah added an assist.
In the Harrison game, Loader had two goals and one assist, Caroline Cregan added one goal and one assist, and both Young and Izzy Yeon each had an assist.
The Broncos are currently ranked No. 8 in the LoHud Power Pankings with a 10-2 record. Their only two losses came against strong Class B teams Yorktown and Lakeland.
The field hockey team competes in Class C and is currently ranked No. 1 out of 12 teams according to gamdayone.com.

Boys Soccer
The boys’ soccer team split their homecoming games, falling 4-0 to Yonkers Montessori early in the week before bouncing back with a 1-0 win over a strong Albertus Magnus team on Friday night.
Long-time Coach Donny Lucas, who earned his 350th victory early this year, was awarded a plaque at Homecoming in honor of his achievement.
The Broncos will face Briarcliff on Thursday and close out the regular season on Saturday at Valhalla.
According to gamedayone.com, the Broncos are ranked 5th in Class B out of 15 teams

Cross Country
The cross country teams competed at the League Championships on Thursday and the Manhattan Invitational on Saturday.
Competing at the League Championships against Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Hastings, and Woodlands, the girls’ team placed 1st, and the boys’ team placed 2nd.
The Bronxville girls had a strong showing at Leagues with eight girls’ finishing in the top 10: Mia Horgan, 1st, 17:06.80, Carina Winiecki, 2nd, 17:13.20, Ella McCalla, 3rd, 17:25.70, Emerson Dennis, 4th, 17:28.80, Eva Mihova, 5th, 17:40.90, Quinn Sheehan, 8th, 18:14.30, Charlotte Murray, 9th, 18:18.00, and Kate Outcault, 10th, 18:19.50.
Bronxville runners had some outstanding performances at the Manhattan Invite at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday. Mia Horgan placed third (14:44.30) in the Girls’ Varsity B Race, which included 195 runners.
The Bronxville boys won the Varsity C Race in a field of 28 public and private school teams from the tristate area and many other states across the country.
Nate Deutsch placed 10th, Matthew Jensen, 11th, and Julian Gonzalez finished 17th. There were 198 runners competing in the race.
