Oct. 8, 2025: Bronxville Homecoming began this week with students participating in many Bronco traditions, both new and old. The celebration started off on Sunday with a grade level hall decorating contest. Activities continue this week with many traditional Bronco events including the team banner competition and the annual B-Day contest, where varsity teams dress up in their most spirited B-themed costumes.

Varsity athletes are greeting elementary students at the school entrance throughout the week — a new Homecoming tradition this year. The traditional Thursday night bonfire, a longtime high school event, has a fresh look, featuring a DJ, pizza, a Kona Ice truck, and a photo booth in the Elementary School lot.

The community is invited to an afternoon and evening of delicious food on Wednesday. Food trucks will be parked on Meadow Avenue from 3-8 P.M., and the field hockey team will play against Harrison High School on Chambers at 6 P.M.
Chambers Field will be busy all week with games under the lights. On Thursday, the girls’ soccer team will be competing against North Salem at 5 P.M. The girls’ team (6-1-2) has traditionally played in Class B but has moved up to Class A this fall. North Salem (6-2-2) is the top team in Class C.
There is a “double header” at Chambers Field on Friday evening with the field hockey team (7-2) facing Scarsdale (4-4) at 5 P.M., and the boys’ soccer team (7-3-1) taking on Albertus Magnus (11-2) at 7 P.M. All varsity teams will be introduced at the community pep rally between the two games.
The undefeated Bronxville football team will play on Saturday at 6 P.M. The Broncos, a Class C team this year, will play Class B John Jay-Cross River (1-3). The Broncos have already beaten three Class B teams this season including Westlake, Sleepy Hollow, and Pearl River.
The football team is one of the top-ranked teams in Section 1 and currently sits at No. 7 in the LoHud Power Rankings. After the first three games of the season, running back, Brian Formato, is positioned at No. 2 on the Section 1 Rushing Leaders list with 74 carries, 655 yards, and nine touchdowns.
While the Broncos have played most of their games against Class B teams this season, they will face some tough competition when they go up against crosstown rival Tuckahoe (5-0) at home on October 18th at 1:30.
