Bronxville Varsity Squash Teams are #1 in the Fairwest League and Have Strong Performances at Championships

Feb. 28, 2024: The Bronxville High School Varsity Squash teams traveled this past weekend to Philadelphia to compete in the High School Team Championships.
Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity both ended their regular seasons ranked #1 in the FairWest League. Both teams entered the High School Championships as the top-seeded public school teams in the country. The Bronxville Boys team competed in Boys Division II. The Bronxville Girls team placed in Girls Division I for the first time in its history.
Girls Team
The Bronxville Girls team consists of senior Scarlett Hine (captain); junior Liberty Wilson; sophomores Serena Lescott, Petra Monogenis, Isabel Yeon and Emma Yeon; and freshmen Caroline Cregan, Maggie Miner and Rosie Vorbach.
Bronxville Girls won two tight, consecutive 4-3 matches over Penn Charter and Conestoga to secure an impressive 13th place in the Girls Division I.
No other public school in the country finished higher than Bronxville Girls.
The team finished their regular season undefeated with an impressive 7-0 record.
Boys Team

The Bronxville Boys team consists of seniors Rustin Wiser, Andrew Shah (co-captains), Quinn McCarthy and Jackson Meyercord; juniors Ian Acharjee and Pierce Martin; and sophomores Matteo DelPrete, Kai Schubert and John Shah.
Bronxville Boys staged a tremendous comeback in its match against Tabor Academy. After being down 0-3, the team won four consecutive matches in head-to-head battles.
In the quarterfinals, Bronxville lost in a 3-4 nailbiter to the Pingry team, which went on to win the division. The Bronxville team finished in 8th place in its division with match wins from every player on the team. The boys finished their regular season with a 7-1 record.
Both teams compete in the FairWest League which is made up of public high school teams from Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York
“I simply couldn’t be prouder of our players,” said Head Coach Supreet Singh. “They bring passion, hard work, and a love of the sport on court with them every day.”
Singh offered special thanks to fellow coaches Julia Le Coq, Tunde Ajagbe and Abhishek Agarwal and the High School Athletic Office.
In the fall, Rustin Wiser will play squash for the University of Pennsylvania and Scarlett Hine will play for Bates College.
