Sep. 7, 2016: The Broncos wrapped up preseason practices on Thursday and jumped right into the season on Friday. To see photos of preseason practice, click here. On the opening day of the fall season, the boys' soccer team defeated Tuckahoe 6-1 with goals by senior co-captain Will Vranka (2 goals, 1 assist), junior Jeb Burnell (1G, 3A), and junior Zack Zucker (2G). Opening week is busy for the Bronco boys, who played Briarcliff yesterday and will face a competitive Rye Neck team at home tomorrow.
The girls' field hockey team shut out Harrison 6-0 in its season opener. Scoring for the Broncos were senior captains Mia Bettino (4G) and Ellie Walsh (1G, 4A) and junior Hadley Barr (1G). The Bronco defense was tough, allowing only one shot on goal, with goalie Katie Gordon making the save. The girls will play today at home against Nyack. The Broncos are ranked #7 in Section 1 in the Lohud Power Rankings and will face #4 Scarsdale at Scarsdale on Monday.
The football team home opener against Hackley is this Saturday at 3:00 pm.
