Playoff Results and Schedules: Field Hockey, Girls’ Soccer, and Boys’ Soccer

Girls’ Soccer
The girls’ soccer team, seeded 4th in the Class B playoffs, played at home yesterday against No. 5 Blind Brook in the quarterfinals. The Broncos (9-6) and Trojans (6-5-2) endured two 40-minute halves without a score before heading into overtime. The teams battled in the first overtime without a score, but with less than seven minutes left in the second overtime, Kalliroi Ladas scored on a corner kick to give the Broncos a 1-0 win.


Bronxville advances to the semifinals, which will be held on Thursday at Briarcliff. The top-seeded Bears advanced to the semis with a 4-0 win over Westlake yesterday. The winner of the Bronxville/Briarcliff contest will compete in the Class B Sectional Championship at Nyack High School on Saturday.

The girls field hockey team, the No. 4 seed in the Class C playoffs, defeated No. 5 Pleasantville in the quarterfinals held Monday at Hayes Field. Bronxville’s Emma Yeon scored six minutes into the game, followed by Bronco Lilah Keating, who scored three minutes later with an assist from Frannie Krause. In the second quarter, Izzy Yeon added one more goal. The Panthers were unable to get through the tough defense of the Broncos and were held scoreless. Eva Klessel had three saves.
Bronxville’s 3-0 victory over Pleasantville sends the Broncos to the semifinals on Thursday against No. 1 Putnam Valley. In the other semifinal bracket, No. 2 Irvington will play No. 3 North Salem. The Class C Sectional Championship will take place on Sunday, October 29th at Lakeland High School.


Boys’ Soccer
The boys’ soccer team, the No. 6 seed in Class B playoffs, played in the first round of playoffs last Thursday, defeating Hastings 3-0 to get into the quarterfinals against No. 3 Croton. In Monday’s game at Croton Harmon, the score at halftime was 0-0, but the Tigers were able to score in the second half to give Croton a 1-0 victory. The Bronxville boys’ soccer team has ended its season with a record of 9-5-2.
