There also is a new coaching staff, following long-term coach Brian Senior’s decision to retire from coaching at the varsity level in order to coach his children’s youth teams. The new Bronxville head coach is Bobby Russo, who comes to Bronxville from Archbishop Stepinac High School. Russo had a successful career as a player for Stepinac and eventually returned there to coach after playing in college. His assistant at Bronxville is his father, Ralph Russo.

In a return to Coach Russo’s roots, the Broncos scrimmaged in November at Stepinac. Then they jumped into the regular season by playing in the Carolyn Conroy Memorial Tournament at Lakeland High School. In the first round, Bronxville lost to heavily favored Class A team Horace Greeley. In the second game, Bronxville maintained a slight lead against Brewster throughout most of the game but ultimately lost a heartbreaker at the buzzer in overtime. Alston Tarry led the Broncos with 24 points. Eddy Connors added 14, and Billy Ramundo contributed 10. Liam Bishop nabbed 13 rebounds. Tarry was named to the All-Tournament team.
The Broncos' next home game is on December 11 against Hastings. After that, they host Pleasantville on Friday, December 15, in the first round of the annual Bill Green Holiday Invitational Tournament. Game time is 7:00 pm.
Go Broncos.
