Bronco Spring Teams Finish the Season and Head to Playoffs; Track and Field Teams Win Leagues

May 16, 2018: The Broncos have wrapped up the regular season and move on to playoffs this week. Lacrosse playoffs begin at the end of this week. For golf and tennis, there will be both team and individuals sectional tournaments. The track and field teams captured their respective league titles this week and will head to the Westchester County Championships on Friday and Saturday.
Track and Field
The boys’ and girls’ track and field teams won their respective league titles last week, competing against Blind Brook, Edgemont, Rye Neck, Solomon Schechter, and Tuckahoe. The Bronco girls won 13 out of 18 events, and the boys’ team won 15 of 20 events. See the list below for athletes who placed first or second.

Golf
The boys’ golf team has lost only one match so far this season and hopes to have several members of the team compete in the sectional tournament on Monday, May 21. Players who qualify will advance to the final round on May 23. The Bronxville golf team will also compete in team sectionals in the coming weeks.
Eighth-grader Molly Stoltz has qualified for the girls’ sectional golf tournament and will play at Centennial Golf Club on Monday.
Tennis
The Bronxville boys’ tennis team clinched its fourth straight league title with late-season wins over Briarcliff (3-2), Solomon Schechter (4-1), Croton (5-0), and Irvington (5-0, 3-2). In the sectional team tournament held last week, the No. 6 Broncos beat No. 11 New Rochelle, 7-0, in the first round and will play No. 3 Harrison on Friday in the quarterfinals.
Girls’ Lacrosse
Playoff seeding for the girls’ lacrosse team was announced on Monday, and the Class D Broncos got the top seed. Bronxville received a bye in the first round and will play at home in the quarterfinals on Friday against the winner of No. 9 Westlake/No. 8 Pawling. If they advance in the tournament, the Broncos will play at home in the semifinals on Monday, May 21, and in the finals on Wednesday, May 23, at Torne Valley Sports Complex in Suffern. The Bronco girls finished the season with an 11-1 record in Section 1 and a 12-4 record overall.
Boys’ Lacrosse
The boys’ lacrosse seeding meeting will take place tomorrow. LoHud ranks Bronxville No. 2 in Class D behind No. 1 Pleasantville, and the boys should get home field advantage for the first round of the playoffs on Saturday, May 19. If the Broncos advance in the playoffs, the quarterfinal round will be played on Tuesday, May 22, the semifinals on May 24, and the finals on May 30 at Lakeland High School. The Broncos finished the regular season with an 8-4 record in Section 1 and an 8-8 record overall.
Baseball
The baseball team finished the season 7-13 and will play away in the first round of playoffs on Thursday. The Broncos' opponent will be determined today at the Section 1 seeding meeting.
