Feb. 4, 2026: Caring for aging parents often begins quietly—with small concerns about safety, memory, or independence—but can quickly become overwhelming without a clear plan. To help families navigate these challenges before a crisis occurs, Gramatan Village, in partnership with the Bronxville Public Library and Oasis Senior Advisors, is hosting a free educational talk series designed to support families facing the realities of aging and caregiving.

The series of monthly discussions is designed specifically to support adult children of aging parents—often referred to as “the Sandwich Generation”, or adults who are simultaneously caring for aging parents while also supporting their own children, often while balancing work and other responsibilities. Spouses, partners, family caregivers, and others who are asking questions such as: Is my loved one safe at home? When is it time for help? What happens if home no longer works? How do we plan responsibly for care? may also benefit from attending.

The panel discussions are presented in collaboration with Bronxville Public Library, whose commitment to community education and family support makes it an ideal partner for these conversations. To make attendance easier for busy families, complimentary childcare will be available during the panels in the Library’s Children’s Room, allowing parents to participate fully while their children are nearby. At the first session on January 13, presenters Susan and Paul Doyle of Oasis Senior Advisors walked attendees through an overview of the Sandwich Generation Series’ full curriculum. Drawing from real-world caregiving experience and hundreds of family case studies, they outlined common challenges families face and practical strategies for navigating senior care decisions. Subsequent sessions will take a deeper dive into specific topic areas, with panel discussions featuring local professionals in the field of aging.

One attendee, a daughter navigating care for aging parents, reflected on the value of the program, saying, “Thinking through these conversations with our aging parents is so important. I’m living through some of these challenges right now, and I’m so grateful to have attended this session. I’ll continue with the series for sure.”
