June 18, 2025: Gramatan Village (GV) was proud to host its annual Spring Into Summer Benefit on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Siwanoy Country Club. This beloved community gathering honored exceptional student volunteers from the Bronxville School whose spirit of service helps forge lasting bonds across generations.

This year’s event celebrated the remarkable dedication of Bronxville’s youth and the visionary programs led by the Bronxville School and PTA that foster civic engagement and service learning from an early age. From literary programming and technology support to event coordination and companionship, these young changemakers have brought connection, joy, and a deep sense of community to the lives of Gramatan Village members.

Together, these students and programs reflect Gramatan Village’s mission to cultivate authentic intergenerational relationships and build a stronger, more compassionate Bronxville. By engaging young people in service and creating shared experiences, GV continues to demonstrate the power of empathy and mutual support in helping older adults thrive at home as active, valued community members.

“We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary efforts of our youth volunteers and the programs that nurture their passion for service,” said Grace Gilmer, Executive Director of Gramatan Village. “Their commitment to creating bonds across generations truly embodies the spirit of Bronxville and the Gramatan Village mission.”

The evening honored a standout group of student volunteers: Elizabeth Barnes, Rishaan Brainch, Madeleine Brandes, Jillian Byrne, Reid Craig, Jake Donnelly, Henry Frigon, Luke Stricklin, Ee-Ee Sung, Charlotte Van Ness, and Stella Woolery. These students contributed significantly to Gramatan Village through the Intergenerational Book Club, Techy Teens, and general member support.

Recognition also went to the Bronxville Youth Community Service Committee and the Middle School PTA Character & Community group for their monthly volunteer initiatives, including tech assistance, card-making, and holiday gatherings. The Elementary School Character & Community group was celebrated for its quarterly Game Days, which continue to bring laughter and genuine connection to GV members.

The Bronxville School Service Learning and Community Engagement Program was recognized for creative efforts like Read-Aloud sessions, which spark literary conversations between students and older adults. The Freshman Transition Team was also acknowledged for its role in the annual Friendsgiving Initiative, supporting thoughtful meal deliveries and heartwarming messages to seniors during the holiday season.

Guests were greeted with a warm musical welcome by student musicians Camille Gautier (viola) and Isabel Yeon (violin), setting a graceful tone for the evening. The celebration continued with gourmet food and cocktails, spirited entertainment, and a raffle featuring exciting prizes—all contributing to a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

The program featured moving remarks from Executive Director Grace Gilmer that deeply resonated with attendees, and inspiring tributes from benefit Co-Chairs Kerry Walsh and Mayor Mary Marvin, who honored the students for their outstanding commitment to community and service.

“Everything about the night was sheer magic. ‘Thank you’ isn’t enough. Everyone’s heart was in this one, and it showed,” said MaryAnne Denniston, Gramatan Village Board President. “More than one person said they were moved to tears by Grace Gilmer’s words.  Guests were buzzing about how inspiring it was long after the event ended.
