Oct. 20, 2026: It is not every day that a local business celebrates its 100th anniversary, but Mrs. Morgan's Flower Shop on Parkway Road in Bronxville has reached that remarkable milestone. Last Thursday, Bob Krause Jr., who took over the beloved florist in 1990, hosted a festive birthday celebration, inviting the community to enjoy an evening of music, dancing, food, and friendship.
Mrs. Morgan opened her flower shop in 1926, beginning a legacy that would become part of Bronxville's history. Robert E. Krause Sr. began working at the shop in 1951. Following Mrs. Morgan's passing in 1955, Krause Sr. purchased her shares in 1957 and continued operating the business under its original name. Bob Krause Jr. began working at the shop in 1976, at just 15 years old, and took over the business in 1990. Since then, he has continued the tradition of providing beautiful flowers and personal service to generations of Bronxville families.
Over the years, Mrs. Morgan's has played a special role in countless milestones and celebrations throughout the community. From holidays and weddings to anniversaries, birthdays, and proms, the shop has created beautiful floral arrangements for life's most memorable occasions. Its commitment to going above and beyond for customers has helped make the business feel less like a store and more like family.
And while customers may not always see Bob when they stop by, chances are he is hard at work downstairs, making sure everything is just right.
The 100th birthday celebration brought the community together, filling the street with Bronxville residents eager to join in the festivities. Patsy’s Pizzeriaand Bronxville Steak and Lounge provided a delicious spread of food, Bona Bona served ice cream, Chantilly Patisserie provided the cake, and Underhills poured champagne for the occasion. The band Smokey O entertained the crowd with lively country music, while children delighted in an assortment of creative bubble displays.
Few businesses can celebrate 100 years in operation, and fewer still can claim to have the same phone number they started with. A business that has remained a cherished part of its community for an entire century is something truly special. Mrs. Morgan’s Flower Shop has done just that, bringing beauty and a personal touch to Bronxville for generations.
Happy 100th birthday, Mrs. Morgan's Flower Shop! Here's to a century of flowers, memories, and community — and to many more years to come.
