Jill's Bar & Restaurant Offers Casual Contemporary Dining and Very Good Food

By Karen Talbot

Nov. 6, 2024: Jill's Bar & Restaurant is worth a trip to enjoy casual, contemporary dining and very good food. The restaurant is located at 100 W Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck, NY 10543 (914) 341-1776.

Jill's is the sister restaurant of Jack's Bar & Restaurant in Eastchester. Jill's is owned by Shane Clifford, his wife, Roisin Flanagan, and Brendan Donohoe, the Executive Chef.

The restaurant is spacious with colorful floral murals, regular and high-top tables, and comfortable banquettes for seating on a stunning marble and wood floor.

A large bar greets you when you enter, and there are quite a few TVs for all your sports fans.

The eclectic Menu has American, Irish, French, and Asian influences, creating an exciting dining experience.

Under "Share for the Table," we had the Irish Scotch Egg, a perfectly cooked egg wrapped in sausage and black pudding with a panko crust.

We also enjoyed Tuna Tartare Bites and an outstanding Savage Sausage Roll, which consisted of pork & leek sausage rolled in puff pastry with a honey mustard dip.

The Menu included an Asian dish that was shareable. The dish included Crispy Duck Pancakes with shredded duck, cucumber, carrots, cabbage, and scallions served with plum hoisin sauce. We also chose the brussel sprouts topped with pine nuts, red onion, sheep, and goat milk crumble. This was an excellent vegan option.

From "Entrees," we ordered the eight-hour Braised Short Rib, which was tender and flavorful and on a bed of yummy mashed potatoes and honey-glazed vegetables.  I can't wait to go back and have the Shepherd's Pie.

Dessert is a must here! We enjoyed the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Orange Mascarpone Creme Brulee, each ample enough for two people.

Jill's Menu also features Bar Bites, Salads & Soup, and Sandwiches. There is a good selection of wines by the glass, served in beautiful wine glasses, and many Hand-Crafted Cocktails.

Jill's is open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner, and brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm.  There is also a Happy Hour from 3 to 6 pm on Wednesdays through Fridays, offering drink and food specials.

The service was perfect, and there was a small parking lot around the corner behind the restaurant.
