Burrata in Eastchester Gets Handsome Makeover; Food is as Delicious as Ever

Oct. 14, 2020: “Good Vibes All Around” can best describe this eight-year-old eatery, which is sleek, modern, and clean. The restaurant has gotten a handsome makeover recently as Chef/Owner Chas Anderson took over the space next door, which allowed him to add the additional room for seating behind the bar. He also built a state of the art kitchen, a “Pasta Laboratory” with a window for patrons to watch all of the fresh pasta being made, and installed attractive new lighting along with comfortable seating by adding upholstered banquettes in both dining areas. The outside façade is also being redone to incorporate the new dining area and floor to ceiling windows.

Social distancing is maintained with all tables spaced six feet apart in the main dining area, complete with a nice-sized bar. Additional seating is available in a smaller dining area in a room behind the bar. But the most important aspect of Burrata is its wonderful creative Italian food from the Chef/Owner Anderson.

Start your positive dining experience with a noteworthy cocktail, either Shaken or Stirred, such as the Milano Mule, an Italian’s take on a Moscow Mule with Vodka, Lime Ginger and Amaro, or The Perfect Gentlemen, a classy and refined mixture of Chamomile Infused Bourbon, French Cognac, Antica Carpano Vermouth & Benedictine.

From Antipasta, we shared the Arancini Alla Piemontese, white truffle & mushroom balls. These were the best risotto balls that I have ever tasted - creamy on the inside, loaded with flavor, and crispy on the outside. We followed these with the Burrata Insalate, featuring creamy and flavorful Burrata, grilled squash with herb pesto, and toasted pumpkin seeds.

From Pasta, we devoured the Agnolotti short rib filled pasta with aged balsamic and toasted bread crumbs. And of course, we had to have one of the eight choices of their Neopolitan Pizza - Soppressata with tomato, garlic, mozzarella, hot soppressata, and basil. The pizzas are wood-fired with puffy charred crust from a handsome copper mosaic oven.

Burrata has only two courses from Secondi, Polleto Al Mattone, or Branzino, which is just fine with so many other fine choices from the other menu categories. A small selection of wines by the glass or bottle are available and ten beers to complete your meal.

Hours of Operation are Tues. – Fri. from 5 to 9 pm and Sat. and Sun. from 12 to 9 pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot off of Fisher Avenue behind the Mobil gas station.
