Bronxville Police Blotter: October 3 to October 12, 2017

Tuesday, October 3, 5:59 pm, Palmer Avenue: While performing routine patrol duties, Police Officer Nigel Butler observed an elderly male who appeared to be lost. A subsequent investigation revealed that the 92-year-old Yonkers male was reported missing by his family. Yonkers Police responded and reunited the man with his family.
Thursday, October 5, 5:19 pm, Meadow Avenue: A caller reported a suspicious male in a gray Honda Accord parked irregularly near the football field on Meadow Avenue. The operator of the vehicle was interviewed and identified. No crime was committed.
Friday, October 6, 3:41 am, Parkway Road: Bronxville Police continue to search for two unidentified males who were operating a vehicle stolen from the City of New Rochelle. The vehicle committed a stop sign violation at the intersection of Parkway Road and the west side circle. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, which subsequently crashed in the City of Yonkers. Two males fled the scene on foot. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, October 6, 8:15 am, Midland Gardens: A 2015 Nissan Rogue was entered overnight. Approximately $20 in quarters and a black backpack were stolen. The vehicle was not locked and the alarm was not activated.
Saturday, October 7, 12:57 pm, Palmer Avenue: A caller reported that he was having a disagreement with a taxi driver who refused to provide the cost of the fare from Lawrence Hospital to the Bronx. The driver was issued an appearance ticket for violating Bronxville Village Code 274-17 Failure to Provide a License. The customer refused any further service from the taxi company.
Saturday, October 7, 4:35 pm, Midland Avenue: A large tree down on Midland Avenue between Masterton Road and Hemlock Road caused a road closure for a brief time, as the tree was too big for the department of public works to remove. A tree removal company responded and corrected the condition.
Tuesday, October 10, 1:26 pm, Park Place: A 32-year-old from Yonkers was charged with misdemeanor Suspended Registration, Uninspected Vehicle, and Operating without Insurance. A vehicle-mounted license plate reader indicated to the officer that the registration for the 2001 Cadillac Deville operated by the individual was suspended. The vehicle was impounded. The person was processed on scene and released pending his next court appearance.
Wednesday, October 11, 7:55 pm, St. Joseph School: An employee of St. Joseph School reported that the school was on lockdown because an unknown male had entered the building on unknown business and they were unable to locate him. Police officers from the Bronxville and Tuckahoe Police Departments conducted a thorough search of the building and determined that the male had left prior to their arrival. A preliminary investigation determined that the subject was not intent on engaging in criminal activity.
Thursday, October 12, 1:51 am, Normandy Terrace: Police Officer Michael Lewis reported that he observed two males enter the village on Gramatan Avenue. While performing a canvass of the area for criminal activity, Officer Lewis observed the two males inside an unlocked Cadillac parked in the driveway of a Normandy Terrace residence. Both males were arrested for trespass and transported to police headquarters. A subsequent investigation revealed that the 17-year-old Bronx male was in possession of a Lexus car key. Officer Lewis canvassed the surrounding area using the panic button feature on the key to locate the vehicle. It had been stolen from Gramatan Avenue in Mount Vernon. The owner was notified and the 17-year-old was also charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree. The 18-year-old Bronx male was found to be in possession of a spring-loaded switchblade and a plastic bag containing marijuana. He was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Both males were arraigned by Judge George Mayer and remanded to the Westchester County Jail after failing to post $5,000 bail.
