By Bronxville Police Department
Dec. 20, 2017: On December 7, at 1:52 pm, Bronxville police received a 911 call reporting a theft in progress of a FedEx package from a residence on Courseview Road. The caller reported that the suspects had fled the area in a gray Audi.
Officers were immediately dispatched, and they located the gray Audi on Pondfield Road at the corner of The Byway.
The three occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of approximately 35 stolen items valued at over $2,400, including the item from Courseview Road and a FedEx uniform.
Subsequently, the three men, all from the Bronx, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree (E felony). Further investigation led to the discovery that one of the men was employed by a FedEx Ground contractor as a driver’s helper on delivery routes.
The continuing investigation also revealed that a fourth Bronx man, who was also employed as a FedEx Ground driver’s helper, provided the location and time of delivery of the Courseview Road package to the other three men, who were following his FedEx truck in the gray Audi.
On December 9, 2017, at 8:45 am, with the assistance of Yonkers detectives, the fourth man was arrested at the Fed-Ex Ground distribution center at 10 Hermann Place in Yonkers. He was charged with petit larceny and was issued a desk appearance ticket directing him to return to the Bronxville Justice Court on January 3, 2017, at 6:00 pm.
After arraignment, each of the three men who were in the gray Audi was remanded to Westchester County Jail after failing to post bail in the amounts of $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000, respectively. All three are due back to the Bronxville Justice Court on January 3, 2017, at 6:00 pm.
