Mar. 7, 2018: The entries below are selections from the Bronxville police blotter.
Thursday, March 1, 5:22 pm, Courseview Road: Police responded to what was reported as an oven grease fire. The Eastchester Fire Department under the command of Captain Dempsey corrected the condition and deemed the residence safe for occupancy.
Thursday, March 1, 8:54 pm, Sagamore Road: Officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run automobile accident. A witness reported observing a vehicle side-swipe a parked car and drive off. The witness provided the license plate number to police, who located the vehicle a couple blocks away. An accident report was completed and the driver was issued a citation for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.
Friday, March 2, 12:38 pm, Palmer Avenue – Gillard’s: The store clerk reported a petit larceny in progress. Officers arrived and interviewed the 48-year-old Yonkers woman who stole a stuffed animal valued at $5.00. The item was returned and criminal charges were not sought by the store manager.
Friday, March 2, 1:45 pm, Elm Rock Road: Officer had to close the street because a large tree had fallen across the street damaging electrical wires. Con-Ed and the Eastchester Fire Department also responded.
Friday, March 2, 2:48 pm, Public Utilities: Several locations suffered damage and service interruptions due to severe weather:

- Elm Rock Rd - tree with wire
- Sturgis Rd / Homesdale Rd - tree with wires / pole
- Prescott Ave - tree / wires / pole
- Plateau West - tree with wires
- Woodland Ave / Oriole Ave - wires
- Kraft Ave / Cedar St - tree
- Sagamore playground - village tree
- Leggett Rd - village tree
Friday, March 2, 4:00 pm, White Plains Road: Police responded to a property damage accident involving a bus that drove off the road and damaged a private fence then left the scene. The bus was identified by village surveillance cameras and an accident report was completed. A citation for leaving the scene is pending.
