Bronco Update: Standings and Scores in the Last Week of the Regular Season

May 14, 2025: All of the Bronco teams will complete their regular seasons in the next week before heading to playoffs. Below is a look at where the teams stands and how they fared over the past week.
Boys’ Tennis
Singles player Jackson Fino competed in the Section 1 Individual Tennis Championship this past weekend at Harrison High School. Fino had a strong showing making it all the way to the Section 1 Semifinals. Match results are below:
-First round: Defeated Bryce Kristensen (Mahopac) - 6-1, 6-1
-Second round: Defeated Kimelman (Mamaroneck) - 6-1, 6-3
-Third round: Defeated Misra (Clarkstown South) - 6-3, 6-1
-Quarterfinals: Defeated Krieger (Scarsdale) - 7-6, 6-4
-Semifinals: Lost to Subhasheti (New Rochelle) - 6-4, 6-2
Doubles team Matthew Cesare/Andrew Lichtenstein lost in the first round to Matthew Reeves/Andres Lomber (Valhalla) 6-3, 6-2.
Boys’ Lacrosse
The boys’ lacrosse team holds a 9-4 record and is riding a six game winning streak since the end of April. According to LoHud, they are currently ranked No. 2 in Class D behind Pleasantville. The team’s four losses this season came against Class D Pleasantville (14-10), as well as Class A Mamaroneck, Class B Horace Greeley, and Iona Prep.
Scoring totals for the Broncos in last week’s wins over Irvington (18-6), Albertus Magnus (18-10), and Stepinac (11-4) were Thomas Freeman (12G, 5A), Chase Bacigalupo (8G, 4A), Brian Formato (3G, 6A), Theo McMurray (6G, 5A), Nick Martinelli (7G, 6A), Harry Bacigalupo (8G, 4A), Declan Denning (2G, 1A), James Halley (2G, 1A), Brady Dolan (1A), and Charlie Atkeson (1G).
Thomas Freeman scored his 100th career point in the game against Albertus.
The Broncos will play their final regular season game on Saturday, May 17th against Class B Yorktown at Chambers Field. Game time is at 2PM.
Girls’ Lacrosse
The Class D girls’ lacrosse team holds a 7-6 record in Section 1 but has only faced one Class D opponent during the regular season. The Broncos played eight of the top-ranked 12 teams in Section with wins over Wappingers (15-10), Horace Greeley (13-7), and Ursuline (11-10). Their losses came against top-ranked Nyack (15-11) and No. 2. Rye (15-5), and No. 3 Suffern (8-7).
The Broncos had a 13-12 loss to Pelham last Thursday. Scoring in the Pelham game were Ellie Garofalo (4G), Rose Woolery (2G, 1A), Charlotte Murray (2G), Mabel Arrighi (1G, 1A), Claire Melchionni (1G), Kendall Valente (1G), Quinn Sheehan (1G), and Amy Villanueva (1A). Michaela Doheny had 4 saves.
Bronxville will play their final regular season game today at Scarsdale at 4:30. Playoff seedings will be announced early next week.
Baseball
The baseball team is 9-9-1 overall and 5-5-1 in its league. Bronxville played Eastchester twice last week winning 3-0 on Wednesday and tying the Eagles 2-2 on Thursday.
In the 3-0 win, Henry Vail (4IP, 6SO, WP), Matthew Walsh (1IP, 1SO), and Sam Dicker (2IP, 4SO, SV) combined for a no-hitter. Jackson Crystal (1-3, HR, RBI), Jack Gangemi (1-3, 2B), Dicker (1-3, HR, RBI), Jack Kennedy (1-2, BB), Jake Donnelly (1-3), Max Zarba (1-3), and Matthew Curran (1-3) contributed to the win.
The Broncos, who play in Class A this year, finished the regular season yesterday and playoff seedings will take place next week.
Outdoor Track and Field
At the Loucks Games held in White Plains last week, over 330 teams competed, the majority coming from the tristate area but some athletes came from as far away as Colorado and Quebec. Top 15 results for Bronxville athletes are listed below:

110m hurdles: Wyatt Gravier, 2nd, 14.11

Boys’ 4x800m relay: 14th, 8:11.56
High Jump: Will Bringle, 15th, 5-9
Discus: Zijun Xu, 9th, 141-10
One mile run, Section 1: Finlay Rowan, 5:18.95, 2nd
Girls’ Flag Football
The girls’ flag football team finished the season with wins over Irvington (39-6) and Hudson River Trailblazers (36-0). The Broncos have an overall record of 8-5-1 and play in Class C with Hen Hud, Ardsley, Westlake/Briarcliff, Byram Hills, and Dobbs Ferry but have also competed against schools in different classes.
