Bronxville Boys 2025 Lacrosse Heading into Final Week of Regular Season

Captains: Brian Formato, Thomas Freeman, Brady Dolan, Will Mattson
May 14, 2025: The Broncos Boys Lacrosse team charged into the 2025 season with renewed energy and new leadership. Head Coach Patrick Henderson took the reins this year, supported by Assistant Coaches Andrew Murray and Mark Hallinan. Leading the team on the field are this year’s captains: Brady Dolan, Brian Formato, Thomas Freeman, and Will Mattson.
While Bronxville remains a contender in Conference D, the team’s schedule featured several challenging non-league matchups—a strategic move to gain experience and sharpen skills against top-tier competition. The Broncos are currently ranked #8 in the latest Lohud Power Rankings for Section One, positioning them as a team to watch this postseason.
The Broncos head into their final week before postseason play with a record of 10-4. They’ve earned solid wins over Westlake, Stepinac, John Jay, Tappan Zee, Fordham Prep, Blind Brook, while facing tough losses to powerhouse programs Iona Prep, Mamaroneck, and Horace Greeley—all highly ranked opponents that offer valuable learning opportunities for this growing squad.
Defensively, the Broncos introduced two new goalkeepers to the varsity squad: Freshman Tanner Vaughey and Sophomore Jack Fowler. Anchoring the defense are Senior Will Mattson, Junior Brady Dolan, Junior Desi Heathwood, and Junior Fletcher van Tienhoven, forming a solid defensive unit. Senior defensive middies Declan Denning, Jeff Colangelo and James Halley along with Freshman Connor Mestl add grit and experience, slowing down even the toughest offensive threats.
On the attack, the Broncos bring firepower with returning starters Junior Nicholas Martinelli and Sophomore Theo McMurray, joined by Sophomore Chase Bacigalupo—a trio that promises to keep opposing defenses on their heels. In the midfield, Junior Thomas Freeman, Junior Brian Formato, and Sophomore Harry Bacigalupo provide dynamic offensive movement and playmaking ability to keep the scoreboard active.
The team also boasts solid bench depth and is ready to step in and contribute at any moment. On defense, Seniors Matthew McSherry and Michael Knox, along with Juniors Walker Moore and Troy Neild, and Sophomore Will Molloy, bring valuable support. In the midfield, Senior Kieren Sen along with Sophomore Charlie Atkeson, are ready to make an impact. Offensively, Senior Zach Loader and Junior Max Nazzaro provide added versatility.
Come support the Broncos Senior Day game this Saturday 5/17 when they face Yorktown at 2pm.
