By Karen Talbot
Sept. 27, 2017: Looking for a good place for pizza tonight? Here are some great local places:
Angelina's most popular pizza pies are:
-Buffalo Chicken Pizza: breaded chicken cutlet, house made buffalo sauce, mozzarella and topped with blue cheese.
-Nonna Pizza:crumbled sweet Italian sausage, sautéed fresh broccoli rabe and fresh mozzarella on a thin crust focaccia style pizza
-Bandiera Italiano (Italian flag pizza): a thin crust focaccia style pizza with filletto sauce (chunky fresh tomato sauce), fresh mozzarella and pesto sauce.
Angelina's offers a 16" round pizza with 8 slices. Half pie combinations available. You can choose from Focaccia Pizza....square pizza cut into 8 slices, topped with filletto sauce and pecorino romano grated cheese or their Sicilian Pizza....square with a thicker crust cut into 8 slices. There are 26 to 30 topping combinations, and a variety of pizza is available by the single slice.
The pizzaiolo is John Carlo, who has been making the pizzas, using the same recipe for 25 years. They have been serving generations of families who eat in-house or order takeout with prompt delivery available.

-Sausage
These pies are all one size, 14" and come with 8 slices on a thin crust. The same man has been making the pizza at Ciao for 25 years, and he makes his own sauce daily.
Customers can choose from 18 combinations and usually they choose two toppings per pizza. Any pizza can be made with two different combinations per pie and they do not have a one slice option.
About 75% of their pizzas are eaten in the restaurant but you can also pick one up to take home. You can see the pizzas being made in the open kitchen that has one wood-fired pizza oven that can cook 2 to 3 pies at one time or in the regular oven that can cook 20 pizzas at a time.

COALS
Coals' most popular pizza pies are:
-Margherita; fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, pecorino romano and basil
-Rustic; fontinella and mozzarella cheese with mushrooms, truffle oil and garlic
-Dean Martin; fontinella, mozzarella, tomatoes, pepperoni and pecorino romano cheese
Coals pizzas come in one size, oval in shape about 8" by 14." Their pizzas are grilled which results in a very thin crust. The homemade dough is pressed out and then draped over the grate of the grill. One side is cooked completely, then flipped over and the toppings are added and it is done when the cheese melts.
If you want a veggie fix, try their famous and tasty brussels sprouts appetizer which is deep fried and tossed in a mustard based sauce with some other secret ingredients, and served with walnuts and raisins.
Coals has been in Bronxville for three years and they have a sister restaurant in Port Chester. They also pride themselves on their high-end selection of craft beers.
