By Allison Roesser
Jun. 10, 2015: Giddyup! My name is Cowboy. I am a four-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix--also known as a Blue Heeler.
I was living in a very crowded animal shelter and recently moved to the New Rochelle Humane Society. I was told that I am a great dog and would have a better chance of finding a home in this new shelter.
I love playing with other dogs, going for long walks, and snuggling with people. I am a medium-sized dog with a short coat of fur that is simple to care for. I am very easy to get along with and up for any adventure you can throw my way.
If you don't know too much about my breed, I am happy to fill you in. We originally came from Australia and were bred for herding cattle over long distances and rough terrain. We are considered one of the most intelligent dog breeds, and we thrive on physical and mental exercise. We are playful, affectionate, and loyal, and we can make great pets.
I am in excellent health and am neutered and up to date with my vaccinations. I am available for immediate adoption and am counting down the minutes until I can meet my new owner.
Please come visit me today at the New Rochelle Humane Society. The shelter is at 70 Portman Ave, New Rochelle (just 10 minutes from Bronxville). It is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on all days except Thursdays, when it is open from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
For more information on how to adopt me, please call 914-632-2925 or visit www.NewRochelleHumaneSociety.org.
