Pet of the Week: Take it Easy Tex

July 11, 2025: Tex is a Lab mix between 4 and 6 years old who arrived in NYC from Houston, Texas. Since his arrival, he has adjusted wonderfully with his foster family and is now prepared to discover a permanent home for himself.
Tex is a lovable, laid-back guy who maintains an ideal mix of playful and relaxed. He enjoys his toys (particularly anything that makes noise), taking walks, and snuggling with you on the couch when it’s time to calm down. He’s somewhat reserved when encountering new people but warms up quickly and establishes close connections with both people and other dogs.
He is now living with a foster dog sister, and they share a strong bond, enjoying toys, meals, and everyday adventures together. Tex would thrive in a household with another sociable dog, although he’s adaptable as long as he receives affection and companionship.
He’s house and crate trained, and manages well alone during the workday while his foster mom is at the office. If you need a friend for long strolls or a calm companion, Tex is ready to find his forever family.
