Junior League of Bronxville Now Holding Fourth Annual Dorm Room Drive for Incoming College Students from Yonkers and Mount Vernon

By Rosalia Nocerino, Vice President, Communications, Bronxville Junior League

Apr. 13, 2016:  For the fourth year in a row, the Junior League of Bronxville is teaming up with YPIE (Yonkers Partners in Education) and TGCW (The Guidance Center of Westchester in Mount Vernon) to support incoming freshman women as they embark on their college careers.

The JBL Dorm Room Drive, as it is called, will be collecting donations of dorm room beddings, linens, towels, and other essentials for 25 young women from these two college preparatory program.

The selected young women from YPIE and The Guidance Center are from low-income communities, many of whom will be the first generation to attend college.

The Dorm Room Drive culminates with a "shopping event" and gathering for the graduating seniors. At the event, the young women will be able to shop and select the items collected for their dorm rooms for the coming fall semester. After shopping, there will be a gathering to celebrate the girls' success and future.

The drive is in full swing and ends on May 9. Donations can be made online at the Junior League registry with Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, or Amazon using the links below:
