Sep. 25, 2013: The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College is pleased to announce that fundraising expert and former SUNY New Paltz filmmaking professor Suzanne Grossberg will be teaching a two-day grant writing workshop entitled Show Me the Money: Writing Award-Winning Grants for the Arts on Saturday and Sunday, October 19-20, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
This course is designed for writers, artists, teachers, and nonprofit professionals at all levels of experience who want to develop and write successful grant applications for foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
Students will learn how to research, review, and analyze grant program guidelines and write a two-page fundable foundation proposal by course conclusion.
Suzanne Grossberg has a 23-year successful history of raising millions of dollars for the arts, education, and research. She is currently president and CEO of her own consulting company and has helped numerous nonprofits with strategic planning, board recruitment, national fundraising, public relations campaign development, grants research and writing, and event planning and execution.
Ms. Grossberg earned her MA in creative arts interdisciplinary from San Francisco State University and her BS, magna cum laude, in communication arts from SUNY New Paltz.
"We are excited about offering this new grant writing workshop to the community and having such a leading philanthropy expert like Ms. Grossberg teach it," said director of the Sarah Lawrence Center for Continuing Education David Donnelly. "This is the first time that The Writing Institute is offering a course specifically focused on professional writing for fundraising, and we hope the public-at-large will take advantage of this unique learning opportunity."
The registration fee for this 10-hour workshop is $275 per person and includes lunch, snacks, and beverages. Participants are required to bring their own laptops, iPads, or tablets.
The course will be held at the Sarah Lawrence Center for Continuing Education located at 45 Wrexham Road in Bronxville.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
