September 6, 2020: There will be a food drive at Christ Church Bronxville (17 Sagamore Road in Bronxville) from 11:00AM to 3:00PM.  The following items have been requested.
- 16 oz cans of fruit, corn, pigeon peas, mixed vegetables, carrots, black beans
- 6-8 oz cans of tuna fish or Vienna sausages
- 1 lb packages of rice or pasta
- 10-12 oz boxes of healthy cereal such as Cheerios, Special K, Oatmeal*
- Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese*
- Shelf stable boxes of milk*
- Paper and reusable bags are much needed to help with distribution*
* Most urgently needed

September 16, 2020: The Friends of the Bronxville Public Library will host a virtual author event via Zoom on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 PM.  Barbara Demick will discuss her new book, "Eat the Buddha: Life and Death in a Tibetan Town."  Register here, and you will be sent the Zoom link on the day of the event.  Click here to learn more.

October: Due to the continuing uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation, The Counseling Center is canceling its 2020 benefit, scheduled for October 17. They are instead hosting a lively, interactive online event in October with opportunities to support the work of The Counseling Center. Details will follow. A grand in-person 49/50th Anniversary Benefit with special honorees is scheduled for May 7, 2021, at the Bronxville Field Club.

October 15, 2020: Senior Citizens Council 50th Anniversary Benefit 

November 7, 2020: Take Back Day.  In the meantime, you can bring paper for shredding (up to four boxes), electronic waste, and other hazardous waste to the Household Materials Recovery Facility (H-MRF), 15 Woods Road, Valhalla. They are raising funds for Blue Star Families & the Wreaths Across America Initiative to help military members and their families during these times. November 14, 2020. 7 pm: The Hoch Chamber Music Series opens its 18th season this Saturday evening with a performance by the acclaimed Emerson String Quartet. The concert will be held virtually this year via Zoom. November 15, 2020, 11 am to 3 pm: Christ Church, Bronxville (17 Sagamore Road), will host its Third Sunday Food Drive for the benefit of Grace Church, White Plains. Please share generously from the following list:

14-16 oz. cans of corn, peas, green beans, black beans or mixed vegetables

14-16 oz. cans of fruit

1 pound packages of pasta or rice

10-12 oz boxes of LOW SUGARED cereal (Cheerios, Special K, etc.)

Macaroni & Cheese

Shelf Stabilized Milk

Canned tuna fish, chicken, Vienna sausages, NON-GLASS jars of peanut butter and/or jelly

November 18, 11 am to noon: Smoking Tobacco: Why it is Still Important to Kick the Habit.  Free Virtual Health Presentation  Join Dr. Karyi Coyle, a board-certified pulmonologist with NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Westchester for an interactive virtual presentation on the risks of inhaling tobacco including using instruments like E-cigarettes, Hookahs and vaping devices. Dr. Coyle will outline steps for how to stop smoking and the health benefits of quitting. The presentation will also cover different cessation strategies including medication, behavioral therapy, acupuncture and hypnosis. This presentation is appropriate for parents, caregivers, seniors and anyone else who needs to stop smoking or vaping.
