Pet of the Week: Fizzy

Sep. 25, 2013: Fizzy, nicknamed Fizzy Fitzgerald, is an affectionate, sweet, intelligent, and humorous dog who is looking for a second chance at life.
Fizzy will make you laugh when he wiggles his body in an effort to solicit attention and will return any love he receives twofold with cuddles and kisses.
Born in 2003, this senior fellow is an Australian cattle dog/blue heeler/shepherd mix and has amazed the staff with how easily he can be trained. He is a fun dog with an amazing personality who belongs in a home with people who will love and care for him. All it takes is one treat or walk, and he will instantly become putty in your hands. And once Fizzy trusts you, there is no turning back; you have a friend for life.
Fizzy has a mellow temperament but is chock-full of charisma and charm. He would make a great companion for a senior human looking for a pal to hang around with or for a family looking for a gentle, low-key four-legged addition to their home.
Fizzy is in good health, has been neutered, and is up to date with all of his vaccinations. He is currently residing at Pets Alive Westchester, a no-kill animal sanctuary and the former Elmsford Animal Shelter.
Pets Alive Westchester is located at 100 Warehouse Lane South, Elmsford, NY, and is open for adoptions from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Sunday through Thursday, from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm on Fridays, and from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm on Saturdays. The shelter prefers that you fill out an application online prior to coming to the shelter, but they are also able to process applications on-site in most circumstances. More information about their adoption process and the adoption application can be found on their website at www.petsalivewest.org.
