Bronxville Green Committee Launches New Website

By Ellen Edwards, Bronxville Green Committee

May 19, 2021: The Bronxville Green Committee, which is part of our local government, is a volunteer organization working to propose and implement environmentally sustainable programs in our community.

We know life is busy and sustainable living requires a big change for all of us. The good news is you do not have to be perfect at it right away. Evaluating your daily activities and making small changes will create habits that soon grow into a lifestyle. We believe every resident and family can make a positive impact and we hope to be a helpful resource in the process.

To support these efforts, we are launching a new Bronxville Green Committee website! Our new site will allow us to:

-Announce new policies that work to reduce our village waste, pollution, and carbon footprint while protecting our air, water, land, and biodiversity.

-Promote our important local programs: Pollinator Pathways, Giving Garden, Take Back Day and (coming soon!) Food Scrap Recycling.

-Support important Village Hall environmental initiatives such as our recent registration as a NYS Climate Smart Community!

-Provide tips and resources to help residents, organizations, and businesses implement sustainable practices in daily activities – from recycling tips to clean energy solutions like Community Solar.

-Engage directly with our community through surveys, announcements, and educational events.

-Provide educational resources around local and global environmental challenges and solutions.

We believe our new website will allow us to work more effectively with our community to accomplish our goals together – think globally, act locally and visit us today!

Please contact us with any questions, suggestions, concerns, and to volunteer in our efforts. Thank you for your support!

The Bronxville Green Committee

The Bronxville Green Committee is a volunteer organization under Village government.  We work with the Trustees and Village staff on programs that promote clean energy initiatives and sustainable ways of living. Our programs include The Bronxville Giving Garden, a community garden whose produce is donated to local groups; Take Back Day, when we collect items to be recycled; and Pollinator Pathways, which encourages adding native plants to our gardens. We believe everyone can make a difference by adopting simple, sustainable practices in daily life so we can work together to protect what we love -- our families, our homes and our town.
