Pet of the Week: Merry Monkey

By Natalia Thiessen

June 18, 2025: Monkey may be tiny, but she is larger than life in personality and spirit! This special 5½-month-old kitten has overcome adversity and is ready to find a forever family of her own.

Monkey's story began when she was an eight-week-old kitten who was found alone at an outdoor cat colony (likely abandoned). She was unique among the cats there because she immediately went towards people in search of affection.

Monkey's early experiences were rough; she was treated for panleukopenia, which is a potentially deadly virus for a kitten. Despite everything, she came out on the other side! Now, Monkey is healthy, spayed, vaccinated, and thriving!

She has an adorable wobbly gait (which she is not bothered by), and it only adds to her character! She is confident, sweet, and brings a lot of energy to the room. Her big personality has excited everyone at the rescue; with her spunky behaviors, she acts like she runs the place!

She's well-suited for other cats and children and would likely fit well in many different homes.

If you're looking for an adventurous and cuddly companion who will brighten your days, then Monkey might be your girl!
