June 3, 2021: The Gramatan Village 2021 Annual Benefit will be held virtually on Thursday, June 3rd and will feature a short video presentation and a journal honoring Mayor Mary Marvin with the J. Rockhill Gray Community Service Award for her outstanding contributions to the greater Bronxville community. Click here on June 3rd to go to the Gramatan Village website for the event. June 3 and 10, 5:00 PM: Bronxville High School Performance of "The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee." The performance will take place on the front lawn of the Bronxville School.
June 4th, 5th and 6th: Sidewalk Sale in Bronxville
June 5th, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., in-person TAKE BACK DAY returns to Bronxville. Here’s your chance to empty your donation bin! Two Drop-Off Sites This Year
-Elementary School Parking Lot, for drop-off of paper to be shredded. Line up along Midland Avenue, going south as you would for school drop-off and pick-up.
-Palumbo Place, entering from Gramatan Avenue, for drop-off of the following:
*Electronics for safe dismantling and recycling by Westchester County, including desktops, laptops, and tablets; TVs; FAX machines, VCRs, printers, and related cords. By New York State law, all electronics must be kept out of the regular waste stream.
*Cell phones: Bronxville High School student initiative iTRAID collects used cell phones for repurposing.
*Gently used clothes, bed linens, and shoes: Collected by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Family Services of Westchester; proceeds support youth mentoring programs.
*Plastic tube coat hangers: Collected by GradBag, which will distribute to college students in need of dorm room supplies.
*Gently used towels and blankets (no sheets), to be distributed to local animal shelters.
This event is sponsored by the Bronxville Green Committee and the Bronxville Department of Public Works.
June 8, 2021, 7:00 PM: Author Talk with Laura Dave brought to you by Friends of the Bronxville Library. Laura Dave is an international best selling author of several novels. Her latest novel, The Last Thing He Told Me is about mothers and daughters, about the family you create, and how we all have secrets we bury. The event will be moderated by Jonathan Tropper. June 13, 2021, 3:30 - 5:30 PM: Concordia Conservatory Open House. The Open House will be at the Conservatory (172 White Plains Road in Bronxville). It will include student and faculty performances, tours of the school, and an opportunity to meet and mingle with faculty, staff, and students. The event is free and open to the public.
Ongoing: Bronxville Farmer's Market. Open every Saturday from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, corner of Stone Place and Paxton Avenue in Bronxville.
Ongoing: Bicycle Sundays: During Bicycle Sundays, the Bronx River Parkway is open exclusively for bicyclists, in-line skaters, scooters, walkers and joggers from Exit 4 at Scarsdale Road in Yonkers to Exit 22 at the Westchester County Center. The round-trip distance is 13 miles. The road is closed to automobiles in that stretch of parkway. Admission is free. Masks are recommended for all Participants. The program is open from May through October – except Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Columbus Day weekends.

Bronxville is a quaint village (one square mile) located just 16 miles north of midtown Manhattan (roughly 30 minutes on the train) and has a population of approximately 6,500. It is known as a premier community with an excellent public school (K-12) and easy access to Manhattan. Bronxville offers many amenities including an attractive business district, a hospital (Lawrence Hospital), public paddle and tennis courts, fine dining at local restaurants, two private country clubs and a community library.
While the earliest settlers of Bronxville date back to the first half of the 18th century, the history of the modern suburb of Bronxville began in 1890 when William Van Duzer Lawrence purchased a farm and commissioned the architect, William A. Bates, to design a planned community of houses for well-known artists and professionals that became a thriving art colony. This community, now called Lawrence Park, is listed on the National register of Historic Places and many of the homes still have artists’ studios. A neighborhood association within Lawrence Park called “The Hilltop Association” keeps this heritage alive with art shows and other events for neighbors.
Bronxville offers many charming neighborhoods as well as a variety of living options for residents including single family homes, town houses, cooperatives and condominiums. One of the chief benefits of living in “the village” is that your children can attend the Bronxville School.
The Bronxville postal zone (10708, known as “Bronxville PO”) includes the village of Bronxville as well as the Chester Heights section of Eastchester, parts of Tuckahoe and the Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa and Longvale sections of Yonkers. Many of these areas have their own distinct character. For instance, the Armour Villa section has many historic homes and even has its own newsletter called “The Villa Voice” which reports on neighborhood news.
