Monday, July 10, 12:18 pm, Lawrence Hospital: A family member reported that a gold ring was missing from the hand of a patient who passed away on July 1. The incident is being investigated.
Tuesday, July 11, 11:13 am, Garden Avenue lot: There was a two-car accident with no injuries. An accident exchange report was completed.
Tuesday, July 11, 2:21 pm, Oval Court: Police quelled a dispute between a resident and an employee of a moving company. No crime was committed.
Tuesday, July 11, 4:28 pm, Church of St. Joseph, Kraft Avenue: An elderly female reported that an unknown male used a distraction to gain possession of her purse. The woman retrieved her purse from the man, who then attempted to convince her to leave the church because they were exterminating. The woman refused and immediately reported the incident to church staff. Detectives are investigating the incident.
Tuesday, July 11, 7:08 pm: Police officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute. No crime was committed. A domestic incident report was completed. One of the verbal combatants who is not a resident left of their own accord.
Wednesday, July 12, 9:21 am, Pondfield Road: A Bronxville parking enforcement agent requested police assistance with a resident who verbally berated him for issuing an expired inspection sticker to his parked vehicle. The dispute, which remained verbal in nature, was resolved by the responding officer. No crime was committed.
Wednesday, July 12, 1:32 pm, Edgewood Lane: A resident reported that an unknown male operating a black GMC SUV approached her juvenile daughter in the front lawn and asked her questions about the previous homeowner. The male left before police arrived. The incident is being investigated.
Thursday, July 13, 9:27 am, Westbourne Condominiums: An unknown male entered the basement of the building at approximately 1:30 am and forced open several storage lockers, causing extensive damage to doors, walls, and locking mechanisms. No items of value have been reported stolen at this time. The incident is being investigated by detectives.
Thursday, July 13, 11:25 am, Studio Lane: A 2015 Honda Pilot operated by a 16-year-old female struck a utility pole causing a road closure and a response from Con-Ed to stabilize the pole. The driver, who was evaluated by the Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps, did not report any injuries. It is unclear at this time what caused the collision.

Bronxville is a quaint village (one square mile) located just 16 miles north of midtown Manhattan (roughly 30 minutes on the train) and has a population of approximately 6,500. It is known as a premier community with an excellent public school (K-12) and easy access to Manhattan. Bronxville offers many amenities including an attractive business district, a hospital (Lawrence Hospital), public paddle and tennis courts, fine dining at local restaurants, two private country clubs and a community library.
While the earliest settlers of Bronxville date back to the first half of the 18th century, the history of the modern suburb of Bronxville began in 1890 when William Van Duzer Lawrence purchased a farm and commissioned the architect, William A. Bates, to design a planned community of houses for well-known artists and professionals that became a thriving art colony. This community, now called Lawrence Park, is listed on the National register of Historic Places and many of the homes still have artists’ studios. A neighborhood association within Lawrence Park called “The Hilltop Association” keeps this heritage alive with art shows and other events for neighbors.
Bronxville offers many charming neighborhoods as well as a variety of living options for residents including single family homes, town houses, cooperatives and condominiums. One of the chief benefits of living in “the village” is that your children can attend the Bronxville School.
The Bronxville postal zone (10708, known as “Bronxville PO”) includes the village of Bronxville as well as the Chester Heights section of Eastchester, parts of Tuckahoe and the Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa and Longvale sections of Yonkers. Many of these areas have their own distinct character. For instance, the Armour Villa section has many historic homes and even has its own newsletter called “The Villa Voice” which reports on neighborhood news.
