Bronxville Farmers' Market to Open Saturday, May 12

May 9, 2018: We are so excited to return to the intersection of Stone and Paxton on Mother's Day Weekend.
We are pleased to report that all of your favorite long-standing vendors are returning to the Bronxville Farmers' Market this year and we've added a few new vendors who will be rotating through the market all season long.
Among them, a new baker called SweetHearth who specializes in baked goods that are so delicious and gorgeous, you will not notice that they are gluten-free or made with super healthy ingredients. Consider her cocoa brownie made with cauliflower puree (my unsuspecting kids flipped over these) and her French macarons filled with raspberry and red beet or fennel and pistachio jam. Baker Brittany Vellucci will be at the market on the first Saturday of each month.
Also new, Big Bang Coffee, a coffee-roaster based out of Peekskill, will be bringing their beans and hot coffee to the market twice a month on the first and third Saturday of each month.
McGrath Cheese Company, based out of Hudson, NY, will also be returning twice a month with their popular aged, earthy Rascal cheese and its soft and buttery Victoria cheese--the perfect companion to a slim, crisp baguette from Bien Cuit bakery.
We have a new Vietnamese food vendor, VNFOODTOGO, based out of Pleasantville. They will be bringing summer rolls packed with local fresh vegetables and, in cooler months, traditional, aromatic Pho soup made with chicken or beef. Three Little Pigs BBQ will have a more regular presence this summer.
Some of our local Bronxville businesses who are a natural fit, like Root & Vine, will join us on the market plaza with some of their healthy, energizing juices and some baked goods. Jessica Mullins of Found Herbal will be leading cool demos for kids--like make-your-own lip-balm. And, of course, Dobbs & Bishop will be there weekly with their dizzying assortment of regional cheeses.
We hope to see all of you flocking to the market this season. If you have friends or neighbors who haven't yet made it to the market, let them know what they've been missing!
Better yet, bring them by. We have cool new boat-style shopping bags just waiting to be filled with bounty from the market.
And our lovely on-site manager, Natalie Rivera, will be returning to welcome all of you bright and early every Saturday.

Bronxville is a quaint village (one square mile) located just 16 miles north of midtown Manhattan (roughly 30 minutes on the train) and has a population of approximately 6,500. It is known as a premier community with an excellent public school (K-12) and easy access to Manhattan. Bronxville offers many amenities including an attractive business district, a hospital (Lawrence Hospital), public paddle and tennis courts, fine dining at local restaurants, two private country clubs and a community library.
While the earliest settlers of Bronxville date back to the first half of the 18th century, the history of the modern suburb of Bronxville began in 1890 when William Van Duzer Lawrence purchased a farm and commissioned the architect, William A. Bates, to design a planned community of houses for well-known artists and professionals that became a thriving art colony. This community, now called Lawrence Park, is listed on the National register of Historic Places and many of the homes still have artists’ studios. A neighborhood association within Lawrence Park called “The Hilltop Association” keeps this heritage alive with art shows and other events for neighbors.
Bronxville offers many charming neighborhoods as well as a variety of living options for residents including single family homes, town houses, cooperatives and condominiums. One of the chief benefits of living in “the village” is that your children can attend the Bronxville School.
The Bronxville postal zone (10708, known as “Bronxville PO”) includes the village of Bronxville as well as the Chester Heights section of Eastchester, parts of Tuckahoe and the Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa and Longvale sections of Yonkers. Many of these areas have their own distinct character. For instance, the Armour Villa section has many historic homes and even has its own newsletter called “The Villa Voice” which reports on neighborhood news.
