Dec. 18, 2024: Registration has begun for the Bronxville Adult School (BAS) winter semester with nearly 150 day and evening classes spanning eleven categories. Don’t miss this no-pressure, no exams, no grades, fun and friendly way to learn —you’ll feel better when you get up, get out and do it. The winter semester runs now through mid March.
The Bronxville Adult School offers courses for everyone including 35 fitness dance and movement classes. Brand new this winter are TikTok Dance Party, Hip Hop for Everyone, and Swing into Fun, Coast to Coast while returning favorites include country line dancing, belly dancing, salsa, and more. Games are also popular in the winter with classes on bridge, Mah Jongg, canasta and casino favorites, blackjack and poker. The winter semester includes two new writing classes: Start Your Writing with Six Words and Short Distances, Great Stories: A Local Travel Writing Workshop (offered through Zoom).
Arts and crafts classes are perennial favorites. This winter BAS has expanded this category to meet demand. You can sign up for multi-class courses such as Explore Drawing: Charcoal to Pastel (new), Watercolors Essentials (new), and Botanical Drawing in Colored Pencil, and two different knitting classes. Limited courses (2-3 classes) cover crafts such as jewelry making, Celtic knot design and winter weaving. Single-night classes include felting bowls, candle making, meditative art, a variety of cooking classes, and more.
The Bronxville Adult School is best known for extensive evening programming held at the Bronxville School, but the school now offers many daytime classes at local venues. During the day you can take digital photography and bridge at the Tuckahoe Community Center, Mah Jongg at the Women’s club, yoga at Studio B, Ballet Barre at the Dance Gallery in Tuckahoe and a new functional wellness class on the MELT method at the Tuckahoe Community Center. BAS’s hugely popular pickleball, indoor tennis and golf programs are held at Lake Isle and feature many class levels from which to choose. Pickleball is also offered in the evening at the Bronxville School.
Beat the winter blues with a fun filled class at the Bronxville Adult School. Bring a friend or come alone and meet new people.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
