Aug. 27, 2014: Like it or not, the importance of standardized test scores in the college admissions process cannot be underestimated. Understanding this, the Bronxville Adult School has again partnered with Bespoke Education to offer small classes at a modest cost to reduce both the stress and expense of this process.
This fall and winter, prep classes for the PSAT, ACT, and SAT will be offered at The Bronxville School on Tuesday evenings starting September 16 for the PSAT, October 14 for the ACT, and January 6 for the SAT, timed to best coincide with test dates.
ACT and SAT fees include two mock tests on weekends at one of Bespoke's offices in Irvington, Manhattan, or Brooklyn, to replicate actual test conditions.
Selecting the right test, ACT or SAT, is a crucial decision in the college admission process. To help students and parents decide, Bespoke is offering a free session at The Bronxville School at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9, and again on November 4.
You can sign up online for the prep sessions at www.bronxvilleadultschool.org or by mail or phone at 914-793-4435. Enrollment is limited to keep class sizes small.
Past students and parents have raved about the classes, so don't pass up this wonderful opportunity.
And, while students are spending their Tuesday evenings prepping, parents can join them on Tuesday evenings at the Bronxville Adult School by taking a class and then joining their student for the trip home.
Among the classes offered Tuesday night are: Getting Started on Writing Fiction, Essential Computer Skills, Reading Shakespeare Aloud, Guitar, Spanish or Italian lessons, Walking Workout, and Watercolors. A most enjoyable and productive use of time for everyone!

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
