Sep. 24, 2014: The Concordia College Music Department will present a series of concerts with the theme of journeys for the 2014-2015 school year.
All the concerts will be held in the Sommer Center for Worship and the Performing Arts at Concordia College. Tickets can be purchased at www.smarttix.com or by leaving a message at Concordia's music office at 914-337-9300, ext. 2424.
The fall concert schedule includes:
Journey through Latin America
October 14, 7:30 pm
'SCAPE Trio presents a soul-filled musical journey through Latin America with all its fiery tangos, salsas, and heartwarming sounds from south of the equator. Tickets are $5.
Journey from the Far East
November 3, 7:30 pm
A special concert featuring taiko drumming. For over a millennium, the taiko drum has been used in Japanese court music, in Shinto and Buddhist folk rituals, and in theater traditions. Tickets are $5.
A Gospel Journey
November 20, 7:30 pm
An exciting multimedia-rich evening filled with gospel music with a cappella groups Praise Dance, Spoken Word, Instrumentals and Urban Contemporary Gospel Choirs. Tickets are required for this free event.
Journey from Patriotism to Peace
November 23, 4:00 pm
The Concordia Women's Chorale, Men's Glee, Festival Choir, and Chamber Choir, along with the Concordia Camerata, present a concert of music that spans from an armed forces medley and patriotic songs of war to songs of anti-war and peace. The concert will include classical and popular selections for choir and orchestra. Tickets are $10.

The Bronxville Adult School is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in 1957 and chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. The School "offers all adults of Bronxville and surrounding communities the opportunity for personal growth through life enhancing skills and provides cultural, intellectual and recreational stimulation at a nominal cost."

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
