Mar. 11, 2015: For Saint Patrick's Day from Belfast to Bronxville! Native Irishman and Bronxville resident Stephen Colvin will give his insights into the ability of disruptive media upstarts such as Vice, Refinery 29, and BuzzFeed to unseat established old guard brands. The program will be held in Krenz Academic Center on the campus of Concordia College.
Colvin is president and strategic advisor to Tina Brown's Women in the World Company, where he recently worked on a partnership with the New York Times. He also advises a video production company, a podcast company, and a major private equity firm where he led the acquisition of the luxury magazine Robb Report.
Colvin served as president of the Daily Beast, executive vice president of CBS Interactive, and CEO of Dennis Publishing US, where he oversaw the launch of many media properties including the Week magazine and Maxim.
A respected expert in launching and growing media brands, Colvin's vision, leadership, and hard work were recognized early in his career. In 2001, Adweek honored him with the Executive of the Year Award, and Crain's New York Business featured him as one of its rising stars in "40 Under Forty."
Colvin studied economics and politics at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. His work has taken him across the globe building markets in the UK, Europe, and America.
Business Breakfasts are free and open to the public thanks to the support of Friends of Concordia. The program starts with a light breakfast at 7:00 am, followed by the presentation at 7:30 am.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
