Jan. 13, 2016: Business Breakfasts at Concordia College will return on January 26, featuring Steve Landsberg, founding partner and chief creative officer of Grok.
Landsberg will give a presentation titled "The Business of Creativity: One Man's Advertising Career as a Creativepreneur."
"Grok" is a term coined by Robert Heinlein in Stranger in a Strange Land that means "to communicate with deep empathy." Grok is a full-service advertising agency with 25 employees and over $75 million in billings. Landsberg founded the agency in 2008 with advertising veterans Julie Bauer and Tod Seisser.
Named one of America's fastest-growing companies three years in a row by Inc. magazine, Grok develops innovative brand strategies, delivering big ideas through everything from traditional and digital media to social and ambient environments.
Landsberg previously served as chief creative officer of DDB, New York, chief creative officer of Ogilvy, Toronto, senior creative director worldwide and executive vice president North America of McCann Erickson, New York, and global executive creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi, New York. His blue-chip-brand experience includes American Express, Coca-Cola, Deloitte Consulting, General Motors, Hershey, IBM, i-Health Brands, Jaguar, Kraft, P&G, Sephora, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Timex, UPS, VMware, and Zicam.
Landsberg has won hundreds of major awards for creativity and effectiveness, including Cannes, One Show, Communication Arts, NY Art Directors Club, Effie, Canada's Marketing Award, and the UK's D&AD. He has taught advertising at the Miami Ad School, Concordia College, and the School of Visual Arts, from which he graduated and received the Rhodes Family Award for Outstanding Achievement in Media Arts.
Landsberg and his wife, Sheila, live in Tuckahoe.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
