Sarah Lawrence Faculty Member Jefferson Adams to Lecture about Global Conflict Monday, April 11

By Katrina Walker, Sarah Lawrence College Class of 2017

Apr. 6, 2016:  Jefferson Adams, a member of the history faculty at Sarah Lawrence College, will give a lecture about understanding global conflict on Monday, April 11, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

The lecture, titled "The World View of Adda Bozeman," will be held in the Titsworth Marjorie Leff Miller '53 Lecture Hall, at 1 Mead Way on the Sarah Lawrence College campus.

While many believed that the end of the Cold War would usher in a new era of international harmony and cooperation, quite the opposite has occurred.

This lecture will provide a better understanding of the tension and tumult in today's world through an exploration of the teachings of Adda Bozeman, a leading authority in the field of international relations and one of Sarah Lawrence's most illustrious former faculty members.

Not only does her scholarship traverse a large geographic and historical range--from Europe to Asia to the Middle East to sub-Saharan Africa--but her keen insights appear as relevant as ever.

The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, call 914-395-2412.

Bronxville Public Library

Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children.  All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
