Apr. 13, 2016: The largest free poetry festival in New York, the 13th annual Sarah Lawrence College Poetry Festival, will be held April 15 to 17 and will feature established poets alongside current undergraduate and graduate students and Sarah Lawrence faculty members. Among this year's notable poets are Mark Doty, Ellen Bass, Robin Coste Lewis, and Tim Seibles.
Also featured will be readings by, or work of, high school students and incarcerated individuals who have taken workshops with Sarah Lawrence poetry students.
"The poetry festival is a unique opportunity to witness and engage with the written word. We showcase new and emerging artists as well as established poets, which allows for a rich and varied experience for our audience. Particularly for students, the festival is a great chance to mingle with and learn from poets who are as varied in their style as they are in their subject matter," said Jennifer Robichaux.
The three-day festival begins on Friday evening at 6:30 pm in the college's Heimbold Visual Arts Center and continues through Sunday afternoon.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
