Apr. 27, 2016: The nine-student Concordia College Math Team competed recently in the 2016 International Contest in Mathematical Modeling and placed ahead of the University of California at Berkeley with two of the three-person Concordia College teams outperforming their Berkeley rival in the event. Berkeley is, arguably, the world leader in modeling and mathematical statistics.
One Concordia team consisting of Captain Yameng Wang, Ruiheng Xiang, and Zhen Yang earned "successful participant" status in the competition. This was the same performance level earned by Berkeley, West Point, Emory, Cal Poly, Virginia Tech, University of Washington, and other international colleges and universities.
But the two other Concordia teams of Captain Yuling Zhang, Jeongmin Lee, and Illeyana Graham, and Captain Elijah McGruder, SojeongLee, and Ho Jun Kim scored at the honorable mention level, which moved them ahead of Berkeley and other colleges and universities that earned successful participant status.
These two Concordia College teams earned the same level of performance as Brown, Peking University, Duke, Virginia Tech, U of Adelaide-Australia, and University of Colorado (a frequent winner of the event), along with other international colleges and universities.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
