By Margaret Mager, Co-Chair, Library Party 2020
The Friends of the Bronxville Public Library Board is hosting a cocktail party on Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The theme of this year’s fundraiser is “Looking East: Women Reshaping Asian Literature.”
All proceeds will benefit the Bronxville Public Library.
“The Friends Board is excited to once again host a fun evening that brings the community together to celebrate and support our beloved Library,” said Dina Grant, FOBPL President.
The party will feature Asian-themed hors d’oeuvres catered by former Bronxville resident Jennifer Bonnette of Watson’s Caterers. There will also be a cocktail menu with a variety of specialty cocktails, including a Lotus Blossom Martini, and a Tokyo Sidecar, as well as a sake tasting bar.
“It’s such a fun night out in Bronxville to support a great cause –the Library--a place that touches every resident,” said Irena Choi Stern, a FOBPL board member. “And how often do you get to take over the Library and make all the noise you want, while having a fabulous time?!?”
Tickets are on sale now at FOBPL.org. The cost is $150 per ticket or $250 for a platinum supporter ticket. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase on the website. Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
