Bronxville’s Fourth Annual "Spring Into the Arts" from March 13th – 26th

By Wendy Halley

March 9, 2023: The Bronxville PTA Arts Council is thrilled to announce and invite the community to the annual arts event “Spring Into the Arts” taking place from Monday, March 13 through Sunday, March 26.  The festivities will kick off at The Picture House Bronxville on Monday, March 13th with an Opening Reception from 5pm- 6pm, followed by an Open Mic Night from 6pm -7:30pm hosted by Bronxville High School Arts Society featuring our talented musical high school students.

Also starting Monday the 13th, we will celebrate our Bronxville School student artists, with art installations on display in shops throughout the village through Sunday, March 26th. The framed artwork will be selected by the Bronxville School Art Department faculty, who is curating the installations.  And kids can join in the fun with an “Art Scavenger Hunt” also through the 26th.  Ovder (Booskerdoo) will be handing out the scavenger hunt and art stroll maps.  Candy Rox will be donating scavenger hunt prizes to all the children that finish.

“Spring Into the Arts” is a collaboration between the Bronxville Fine Arts Department, Bronxville High School Arts Society, Bronxville PTA Arts Council, and Bronxville Chamber of Commerce.  This wonderful event started in 2020 to bring our Bronxville community together to recognize and celebrate the arts.

Sharing and celebrating our Bronxville students’ talents, whether it is through the art that is displayed in our village shops or through the Open Mic Night live performances by High School students, is so important.  It brings our community together in our lovely downtown shopping district, it showcases the talents and dedication of our amazing students and teachers, it inspires the younger generation of student artists, and it brings joy to everyone who participates.

Bronxville Public Library
Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
