Nov. 9, 2022: Below are the election results of the key races in our area as reported on the NYS Board of Elections website as of November 9, 4:19pm.
Governor

Kathy Hochul (Democrat, Working Families, incumbent) was elected as Governor of New York, narrowly defeating Lee Zeldin (Republican, Conservative). Hochul became the first female Governor of New York State in 2021, upon the resignation of Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Vote Count
Hochul: 2,958,664 (52.16%)
Zeldin: 2,668,840 (47.01%)
Senate

Charles "Chuck" Schumer (Democrat, Working Families, incumbent) was reelected to the Senate defeating Joe Pinion and Diane Sare. Schumer was first elected to the US Senate in 1998 and then re-elected in 2004, 2010, 2016 and now 2022. He is the senior US Senator from New York.
Vote Count
Schumer: 3,125,137 (55.0%)
Pinion: 2,415,191 (42.5%)
Sare: 25,478 (.45%)
Congress
Jamaal Bowman (Democrat, Working Families, incumbent) was reelected to Congress defeating Miriam Flisser. Bowman was first elected to the Congress in 2021.
Vote Count
Bowman: 96,642 (58.06%)
Flisser: 58,930 (35.4%)
NYS Attorney General

Lettia James (Democrat, Working Families, incumbent) was reelected as NYS Attorney General, defeating Michael Henry
Vote Count
James: 2,986,772 (52.66%)
Henry: 2,540,194 (44.78%)
NYS Assembly District 88

Amy Paulin (Democrat, Working Families, incumbent) was reelected to the NYS Assembly, District 88, defeating Thomas H. Fix.
Vote Count
Paulin: 22,067 (57.79%)
Fix: 14,620 (38.29%)
NYS Senate District 37

Shelly Mayer (Democrat, Working Families, incumbent) was reelected to NYS Senate District 37, defeating Frank Murtha.
Vote Count
Mayer: 44,394 (53.95%)
Murtha: 33,294 (40.46%)
Clean Air, Clean Water and Green Jobs Bond Act
The Clean Air, Clean Water and Green Jobs Bond Act also passed, with 59% of votes cast in favor of the Act.
