Governor Signs Law to Change Date of Eastchester Fire Board Elections, But No Change this Year

Oct. 2, 2013: Assemblywoman Amy Paulin and State Senator George Latimer confirmed at a community function Sunday evening that Governor Andrew Cuomo had signed into law the bill that moves the election of the Eastchester Fire Board commissioners from the month of December to the date of the general election in November.
Paulin and Latimer, however, also wanted voters to know that because of the late signing of the bill (little more than a month away from the November general election), the Westchester County Board of Elections lacked the necessary time to place the candidates for election on this year's November ballot.
Therefore, the election for fire board commissioners will occur once again, and for the last time, in December--December 10, to be exact.
Starting in 2014, elections for fire board commissioners and bond issues will take place on the November general election day.
