Suspect Detained by Bronxville Police: Is Anyone Missing a Pair of Expensive Men's Shoes?

Aug. 6, 2014: According to Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale, Bronxville Police received a call at 4:31 am on August 2 from a Pondfield Road resident saying that his car alarm was going off. At the same time the report came in, a car alarm also went off on Locust Lane.
Police arrived and found Ronnie Fields, a 56-year-old Mount Vernon resident, in possession of US coins, foreign coins, an expensive pair of men's dress shoes, and marijuana.
Fields was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, and the Bronxville Police Department put out a notice requesting anyone missing an expansive pair of men's shoes to notify the Bronxville police.
"We are hoping that someone will contact us about the shoes," said Chief Satriale. "We can't prove the coins possessed by Fields were stolen, but we can in the case of the shoes."
The chief added that the shoes might not have been stolen from a car. "They could have been stolen from a foyer. We are confident that he was likely involved in a larceny, but we lack the physical evidence to charge him."
