Oct. 11, 2017: Ione Furman Glassman, mother of former longtime Bronxville resident Penny Barr and grandmother of Nate, Chris, and Jenny Barr, celebrated her 100th birthday on October 9, 2017.
Born on October 9, 1917, before the end of World War I, Ione is a healthy, positive, humorous, classy lady who has lived in Appleton, Wisconsin, for over 55 years.
She celebrated the momentous occasion with her two daughters (Patti Wilson and Penny Barr) and their families and friends on October 8.
Ione's homestead was on a farm outside of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was married to William Arnold Glassman. She loves music, planting flowers, sewing draperies/clothing, playing bridge, cooking, and playing the accordion while singing with her relatives and family.
