Bronxville High School Graduate Lauren Harrington Named to Forbes '30 Under 30' in Media

Nov. 22, 2017: Bronxville High School graduate Lauren Shippen Harrington has been named to Forbes magazine's 2018 "30 Under 30 - Media" list for her podcast The Bright Sessions.
The "Forbes 30 Under 30" is described by Forbes.com as "our annual encyclopedia of creative disruption featuring 600 young stars in 20 different industries" who are among "the brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers." Those in the media category are described as "defining and driving the world of news and content."
The Forbes 30 Under 30 entry for Lauren says: "In two years, Bright Sessions has been downloaded nearly seven million times and has won seven Audio Verse Awards. It is written by Shippen [Harrington] and produced independently. Highlighted for its LGBTQ+ representation and handling of mental health, the show is in development for TV with Dark Horse Entertainment and Universal Cable Productions."
The Bright Sessions is described on its website as "a science fiction podcast that follows a group of therapy patients. But these are not your typical patients--each has a unique supernatural ability. The show documents their struggles and discoveries as well as the motivations of their mysterious therapist, Dr. Bright. The show is written and directed by Lauren Shippen."
Lauren, who is 26, graduated from Bronxville High School in 2013 and from The College of William & Mary in 2013 with a BA degree in music; she currently resides in Los Angeles. While at Bronxville, she participated in the Drama Club, chorus, Women's Chorale, Music Appreciation Club, and the student-run online newspaper, The Echo.
